Another hazy post

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

There are more articles in e paper today abt e haze.So apparently there’s up to 10% increase in the number of ppl visiting clinics because of e haze. wow. not saying that high living standard is a bad thing.. but…. it can be quite bad sometimes. Hope no one is offended, but Singapore is most affected because everyone is so used in living in this clean and comfortable condition. Here ppl complains because their eyes are teary, they can’t see clearly, can’t stop coughing etc. but hey.. Is your livelihood affected? pls think abt those ppl who live in the area their whole life. they have to work anyway. they won’t survive if they don’t work.

I hope ppl will understand this huge difference in Indo’s living standard and S’pore’s.

I feel that no one deserves to be blamed since this is a very complicated matter. But i still hate e papers. sorry. they’re just fanning the flame.

shall continue tmr.

THE HAZE

Monday, October 16th, 2006

yeah i’m gg to write about the haze.

I’m an Indonesian. That comes first depite the fact that I’ve lived and studied in Singapore for almost three years, fully sponsored by the Ministry of Education. I am still trying to sort my thoughts and hopefully writing it down will help..

I would have to say that I am hurt by the report in the recent newpaper articles. Obviously i have neither witnessed the actual situation, talked to government official nor had I any access to the actual statistics. Therefore I cannot comment on the accuracy of the report.

On the quest of a wider point of view, I went on to read online articles from Indonesian newspapers I know, and next I typed in the word "haze" to Google News.

The result is quite overwhleming. There were articles from countries like Qatar, India, South Africa, UK, and Malaysia.

Most if not all, mentioned how ASEAN neighbours has "urged" Indonesia to ractify the problem. And the newspaper article I read earlier highlighted some solutions offered by Singapore government as well as various NGOs. But oh well.

I seriously have no idea what is actually happening. I have no idea whether other countries have offered help but it’s rejected by the Indonesian government or all they have done is to urge Indonesia to do something. Different articles have different take on this matter. Not to mention that it is quite obvious that newspapers from diff countries report diff things.

I noted that the articles were meant to be as balanced as possible. However, being Indonesian, I feel somehow offended by the way some of the articles were written.

It’s not like Indonesians purposely want to cause trouble for the richer neighbours. It’s not like the ppl there does not suffer. They suffer more.

And if you feel that you shouldn’t have helped Indonesia during the tsunami if you have known that She will cause you this trouble.. She might as well don’t receive your help at all.

Reading all of these articles just saddens me. It feels like the whole world is condemning you coz you give them bad air. I might be over sensitive, but yeah..

not so long post.

Friday, October 6th, 2006

hm. my previous post turned out to be not so long at all. haha.

i dunno how many messages i’ve sent and received today and how many misscalls i get. and it’s not because i’m so popular or anything. haha.

ok. i dun like watching scary movies. am watching this "ghost whisper" on tv. it’s not so scary or anything. i just don’t like things like spirits and those dark mysterious type of things. sometimes look satanic to me. i dun like satanic things. evil things. scary.

i’m starting to do work yesterday night. hm a good start. start to enjoy it actually.

and the haze ard here is so bad. from indo. haha. so bad.

long post.

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

hm. i think this is gonna be a long post. am in no mood of doing anything at the moment. and i hate my phone. it keeps on beeping and ringing. no i’m not referring to anyone in particular. maybe sometimes i just like to be left alone.

" Don’t wait too long for the perfect moment. It might just pass you by."

oh how i wish i don’t have to.

on a side note… i read some newspaper articles and newsweek also.. Just to name a view… A study in King’s College (London) found that women with ring fingers longer than their index finger will do better in sports. A Singapore’s Catholic commenting on the recent Pope’s lecture. Some differeing point of views of the Thai coup. How Japan’s mobile phone technology is growing. A speech by Mr. Tharman. A guy searching for classical guitar.

of course i find the last one most interesting.

but anyway.. shall stop writing now.
